When I read an autobiography written by the author of a website, I'm usually
disappointed. They generally sound more like a police profile or a personals add: I'm 5'2", red hair, blue-eyes, pleasantly
plump, etc. I want to know why a person’s site has so much of an emphasis on gems or herbs or Native American art. Does
this person make jewelry, practice holistic medicine, have a Native American heritage? I don't know because all they said
in their bio was that they love nature, they hate having to hide their faith, hate being persecuted, and their familiar is
a cat named Elvira. How original!
Since many people seem to think that Pagans and Wiccans are all young, gothic, and
come to this religion out of rebellion, I thought I would tell you a little about myself. I've included two versions of my
bio. The short one is basic information that will let you know who I am. The longer version will let you know why
I am who I am. Personally, I think you will be more interested in what I have to say if you know why I'm
saying it.

The Short Version
I'm a 41 year old single mother of three boys. My oldest is 20, the second is 18, and the youngest is 15. We were all born
in southwest Florida and currently live here in a nice rural area. We are surrounded by nearly 200 acres of woodlands and
have nearly a mile of riverfront access. Although this place is beautiful and peaceful, I have serious issues with the humidity
here. We spent about a year and a half traveling from Florida to Arizona to Las Vegas and California before finally settling
in Texas. We lived in west Texas for several years and I will probably be moving back there in a year or two, if not sooner.
I've been studying and researching ancient ways and religious beliefs for nearly my entire life. Greek and Roman religious
mythology were among my favorite subjects. Native American ways and beliefs was also a favorite subject of mine. My interest
in archaeology and anthropology started in elementary school and I love reading about and researching ancient times, places,
and cultures.
I became interested in comparative religious studies when I was in college and read quite a bit about a wide variety of religious
practices. From the study of Ayurveda, I became interested in herbal remedies and spent a while concentrating on that topic.
Learning the different medicinal and religious uses for herbs led me to a Pagan website sometime in 1998.
I started to concentrate on Wicca as a religious path the day after my birthday (Imbolc) in 1999. Although I've been studying,
researching, and practicing Paganism and Wicca for nearly 10 years, I still feel like a baby learning to walk. The more I
learn and practice, the more I realize there's so much more I don't know.
If you're interested in learning more about what led me to this way of life, please read the long version of my bio in the
"My Writings" section.
