Native American tribes from different parts of the country experienced different climates, environments, and natural events. Using these different factors, they came up with different names for the times surrounding the full moons. Usually, a 'moon,' or month, began at the dark moon with the full moon being the midpoint of the month. This is just a small example of some of the Native American names.
